At its recent AGM in Sligo the FAI awarded northside football club, Baldoyle United with the FAI-Aviva Community Club Award for 2015. The club was also the only Dublin club to be shortlisted for the overall FAI-Aviva Club of the Year. The club secured €1,500 for its efforts in the community.
Ireland manager Martin O’Neill presented the award to chairman Dermot Penrose.
Mr Penrose said he was delighted that the fantastic development of the club on and off the pitch has been recognised by the FAI.
“ Over the last five years the Club has developed a range of activities which has positioned Baldoyle United as a centre for developing excellent footballers in a fun and enjoyable atmosphere.
Our academy for 4 to 6 years olds, together with our football camps during the schools holidays, are always in high demand. Last year our new girls section blossomed and now there are four girls teams as well as boys teams competing in every age group from under 8 to over 35. We also now have two teams in the AUL with Baldoyle Grange United”
The Club’s Academy for 4-6 yr olds runs every Saturday morning throughout the year from 10am-11am at their clubhouse on Brookstone Road and new players are always welcome to join the fun.
