The graduates of U8 2014 to next season’s Under 9 had their first try out at Oscar Traynor Road and performed brilliantly despite falling behind in each of the three games of their tournament.

Robbie and Peter took the lads to a mini league where they were well prepared for difficult games against Skerries, Glebe North and Mid Sutton

At 0-2 v Skerries Aaron Troy and Ryan Collins brought Baldoyle to 2-2 and on the front foot but conceded in the last minute to go to 2-3. The game was over with Skerries scoring a fourth with the last kick.

Second game was v Glebe North and after conceding early again everything seemed to click with super defensive performances and with lots of sideline tuition from the coaches Baldoyle quickly scored three through Stephen Finn, Aaron Troy and Alex Whelan. Great defending and midfield from Tadhd Kissan, Scott Larkin, Jack Ranson, Callum and Alex Duffy kept a strong Glebe North team at bay.

A local derby followed and again, within a minute Baldoyle were a goal down against Mid Sutton but that was the last time they saw the Baldoyle net as Tigrish defending from Tadhd Kissan, Scott Larkin, Callum, Jack Ranson and Alex Duffy kept Mid Sutton at bay. Aaron Troy (2), Ryan Collins (2) and Alex Whelan (3) all finished perfectly to finish the morning with a 7-1 victory.

All of this and a few absent players yet to return to action.

Much appreciation and thanks to the travelling support. The weather was threatening all morning but the boys’ performance was fantastic and there was a lot of punching air and applause. Well done guys.
